Functional Pads:
Functional pads are western pads that have a core inserted into them to minimize the pressure peaks and shocks generated by the rider or saddle.
The core consists mostly of plastic plates, which are manufactured depending upon manufacturer from mono plastic plates, Duplex plastic plates up to diffusionsoffenen High Tech plastic inserts. Also, some manufacturers use a gel core in the western pads.
The quality of the core determines the degree of shock absorption.
